This policy covers the StarPause (专注星空) iPhone app and its related account and online services, provided by 杭州几盒数字文化创意有限公司 (“we” or “us”). It explains what information we process, why, who receives it, and how you can manage it. What we actually process depends on the features you use, whether you sign in, and the system permissions you grant.
Screen Time and on-device data
With your permission, the app uses Apple's Screen Time features (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) to process the apps, categories and websites you select and how long they are used, for app limits, scheduled limits and usage reports. Apple only provides protected selection tokens, so we cannot see a full list of your installed apps or read messages, photos or web content in other apps.
Rules, stated purposes, focus history, stars and streaks, and preferences are stored on your device. When you sign in, some of this data is synced to our servers (see section 3). When you use Quick Search, the keywords you enter are passed to the third-party app or website you choose, which handles them under its own policy.
Account and sign-in
You can sign in with a phone number, Sign in with Apple, or WeChat. Your phone number is used to send and verify codes. With Apple or WeChat, we receive only the user identifier and sign-in credential returned by that platform, never your Apple or WeChat password. To keep you signed in and protect your account, we also process session data, an installation identifier, device name, and system and app versions.
You choose whether to add a nickname and avatar. Avatars are picked through the system photo picker, so we cannot browse your photo library. If you don't use account features, we won't ask for your phone number or an avatar.
Sync and backup
When you are signed in, the app automatically syncs focus history, stars and streaks, usage statistics and device settings with our servers, including rules, schedules, stated purposes, website domains you enter, and Apple's protected selection tokens. You can also back up and restore manually.
Signing out stops syncing but does not delete data already uploaded, and deleting the app does not delete your cloud account. See section 7 to delete your data.
Purchases and notifications
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We receive only transaction verification results and membership status, never your card or other payment details.
If you turn on notifications or Live Activities, we and Apple process push tokens, rule identifiers and end times to send reminders and update Live Activities. You can turn these off in system settings at any time.
Analytics and diagnostics
Our own analytics service records events such as app launches, first-use time, screen and feature actions, purchase-flow results and errors. These events are linked to an installation identifier and, once you sign in, may be linked to your account. We use them to fix problems and improve features.
We use Sentry to collect crash, error and performance diagnostics, including a random diagnostic ID and device and app information. Session replay and default personal data collection are turned off. If you choose to upload diagnostics, recent logs and summaries of your rules, permissions and usage are also sent. Please don't include passwords or verification codes in feedback.
Service providers and storage
We use these providers: Apple (Screen Time, sign-in, purchases and push notifications), Tencent (WeChat sign-in), Sentry (diagnostics), Alibaba Cloud (servers and SMS codes), Volcengine (avatar and backup storage for the mainland China region) and Cloudflare (account data storage and network services for the global region). Each provider processes only the data needed for its service.
Our online service runs on servers in mainland China. Account data and avatars are stored in mainland China or the global region depending on your account region, and diagnostics are sent to Sentry's United States region. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-app advertising. Otherwise, we disclose only what is necessary with your consent, when required by law, or when needed to protect legitimate rights.
Retention, deletion and your rights
On-device data stays on your device while you use the app. Account and cloud data are kept while we provide the service, and analytics and diagnostic records only as long as needed for troubleshooting and statistics. We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls and permission isolation.
You can request account deletion in the app. Your account is disabled immediately and you can cancel within 7 days. After that, we delete your account and related cloud data, and revoke Sign in with Apple authorization if you used it. Information we must keep by law is retained only as necessary. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately in Apple's subscription settings.
To access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, contact our privacy email. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by applicable law. Users in the EEA and UK also have the right to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children and policy updates
The app is intended for a general audience. Users under 14 should use account and other personal-data features with a parent or guardian's consent and guidance. If a guardian finds that a child's information was provided without consent, they can contact us to have it deleted.
We will update this policy as features change and mark the version date. We will tell you about significant changes in the app or by other appropriate means. This page uses no advertising or analytics scripts.
